We've Been Busy

This weekend we went to Houston for Sweet Baby Madelyn's baptism. She was an angel throughout the service. I held Mason during the ceremony and when it was all done he said 'my turn now'. How sweet is that? I don't have many pictures from this visit because I was so busy holding the baby and playing with Mason, but here are a couple.

Sleeping Angel :)

Saturday night, we also got to go to my friend Tammy's couples shower. She is getting married in May in Mexico and we, unfortunately, won't be able to go because I will be past the point of being able to travel. BOO! Anyway, the shower was fun. We got to catch up and laugh about our old college days as well as talk about what is going on with us now. No pics from this event because Paul and I were either talking, or eating the chocolate truffles they had....Yes, we are guilty :)

Today, we went to our 24 week appointment and had a hi-resolution sonogram that lasted about 30 minutes. It was great to see our little guy for so long. Here are some of the better pictures that we got. The nurse said everything looked beautiful and Madden is right on track for a July 10th delivery date. They estimated him to be in the 59th percentile weight wise. He does have a big ole head and belly, which I am sure I will appreciate come d-day, but I am sure he will grow into them. As for my stats, I am +10 lbs, but we won't say my exact weight at this time :)

Madden is waving to us below! He is saying "Hey Mom and Dad, even though I was moving all through the sonogram I took some time to wave to you!"
Here is the little mister with a mischevious smile on his face already. How funny is that.

This last picture is just another sweet profile. He looks so peaceful here, but believe me, he is a mover and a kicker.

We go back to the doctor on April 13th for my three hour glucose test and a visit with Dr. Seeker. This will be our last visit in the old office and then we will get to be seen and be delivered at the brand new offices that are REALLY NICE and closer to home.

"Target Store!!" - Mason Schultz

Yesterday I was talking to my sister as she was on her way to take her little boy, Mason, to the store to get jelly beans. I was on speaker phone so I asked Mason which store they were going to and he said...."Target Store". I am telling you we teach them young in our family. Our whole family loves going to Target so I was not surprised at all when that was the store he said he was going to. After all, if you ask Mason what T stands for, he will say Target! How cute!

Speaking of Target, Paul, Kylie and I headed to our neighborhood Super Target today to register for baby things for baby Madden. This registering experience was a lot less overwhelming that when we went to Babies R Us purely because there are not as many baby aisles to go through and because you can always take a break and look at the clothes and shoes, which is what we did. Of course, Kylie loved it because she got to scan in all of the items. She did pretty darn good considering she didn't go crazy with the scanner :). Here are some pics of Kylie scanning some sports themed items for her baby brother.

Oh My Swollen Feet

Well, yesterday was a whirlwind at work and I forgot to hydrate as much as I should. Boy did I pay for that. When I got home my hands and feet were so swollen. It was weird becuase I had never seen my body look like that before. Paul immediately told me to lay down and that he would take care of dinner (which he usually does anyway) and laundry and whatever else needed to be done. I kid you not, I laid down and propped my feet up and I could immediately feel the pressure being relieved from my feet. Needless to say I am going to take it easy this weekend, but it's just so hard! I am a list sort of person and love to make lists of everything that I need to do on my days off! This weekend is no exception. I have the list all made out and am working through it slowly but surely. Now off to pay bills, fold laundry, and get Kylie ready for a sleepover she has tonight.

A Somewhat Brief Version of Our Baby Story

Paul and I have been married for almost three years. I will skip the boring dating stories because we didn't really date all that long and there is not much to tell really. However, from the moment we got married we had tried and tried to no avail to become pregnant. After 2 1/2 years of trying, failing, dr. appts, surgeries, 1 failed IVF and 5 failed IUI's we finally got the news we were waiting (not so patiently for)....WE WERE PREGNANT.

We found out two days before we were actually supposed to because all of you who know me know that I am not patient. Yes, I know, I technically wasn't supposed to take a test before the dr. said it was OK, but I just couldn't wait. I got somewhat of a positive result on my first test and sent Paul to the store to buy two different types of test to take the next morning. I got up at about 4 am to take the test and we were both staring at it waiting for the results to pop up and I said 'Oh my gosh, that is a plus sign, oh my gosh!!' We both just laughed and stayed awake until it was time to get ready for work. We then called our parents, rushed to get my blood test done and the rest is history.

The nurses at our dr's office were all so excited for us! Especially the nurse who did our last IUI since we had some difficulty with it. Needless to say we waited what seems like forever and then began our regularly scheduled dr. appointments. Here are some of the sonogram pictures that we have thus far. I love that my dr. gives sonos each visit. :)

Why Paul and Jen Plus Ten You Ask.....

No, we are not pregnant with 10 kids, or even 8. Yes, we love Jon and Kate Plus 8, but the reasoning behind the name of our blog is two-fold. We have an almost ten year old daughter, Kylie, and we are expecting a special delivery (i.e. 10 tiny fingers and 10 tiny toes) in early July. Yes, you heard me right, we are having a baby. I will post more on our journey to have this precious little boy later, but for now (since its 8:00) and I am exhausted I will just post my 21 week belly pic. I promise to get better about taking pictures and posting as soon as I get used to this blogging thing.

Our First Rodeo

Well, we have finally given into the peer pressure to start a blog. Many of our family and friends have asked us numerous times to send pictures and updates of what is going on in our lives and this seems like the easiest way to do it. Enjoy. More posts to come as we gather pictures and organize our thoughts :)
